UNLV health education professor Warren McNab was awarded the April Alumni Faculty Award for Excellence in Academics and Student Focus.
A member of the UNLV faculty since 1979, McNab has earned numerous teaching and service awards during his 20-year tenure at UNLV. His accolades include the 1996 UNLV Distinguished Teacher Award and the Distinguished Service Award presented by Eta Sigma Gamma National Health Service Honorary.
McNab has authored more than 50 scholarly articles on such topics as health education, human sexuality, and teenage pregnancy, and has served on a number of editorial boards of such scholarly journals as The Health Educator and The Journal of Health Education.
He has also volunteered a great deal of time making presentations to community groups and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Health Education, the American School Health Association, and the Nevada Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
McNab holds a bachelor's degree in health and physical education, as well as a master's degree in health education, from Mankato (Minn.) State University. He earned his doctorate in health education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
