WHAT: UNLV will mark World AIDS Day 2008 with a series of campus events aimed at increasing awareness of HIV and AIDS in our community. Dr. Mary Guinan, founding dean of the UNLV School of Public Health and member of the first CDC Task Force investigating the emerging AIDS epidemic, will offer remarks during the opening ceremony.

DETAILS: Additional campus events include a display of panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Student Union; confidential HIV testing in the UNLV Student Health Center; and Fashion with a Passion, a student fashion show and auction to benefit a local AIDS awareness group at 8 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.
