The University of Nevada, Las Vegas will celebrate its Spring 2016 Commencement on Saturday, May 14 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
9 to 11:30 a.m. — Colleges and schools of business, education, engineering, and hotel administration
2 to 4:30 p.m. — Colleges and schools of fine arts, allied health sciences, community health sciences, nursing, liberal arts, sciences, and urban affairs
Details
More than 2,750 undergraduate, graduate and professional students are eligible to participate in this spring’s commencement. Graduates range in age from 18 to 72, and hail from 42 states and 53 foreign countries. Approximately 84 percent of graduates are Nevada residents. Since 1964, UNLV has awarded more than 120,000 degrees.
UNLV President Len Jessup will honor a few select graduating students during the ceremony for their outstanding academic and community achievements. Jessup will also honor the following with the Board of Regents’ Distinguished Nevadan awards for their contributions to the community and higher education:
- A.M. Ceremony: Fred Albrecht (posthumously), Amy Ayoub, and Shelley Berkley
- P.M. Ceremony: Mark Alden, Bill D. Brady, and Dr. Nick Spirtos
