UNLV's Career Day 2002, scheduled for Feb. 27, will offer those looking for new career opportunities a chance to meet with more than 140 prospective employers.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. While targeted primarily to UNLV students and alumni, the event is open to the public. There is no admission charge.
"Considering the employment climate, right now we recommend that those looking for a job take advantage of every available resource," said Rita Bocchinfuso-Cohen, assistant director of career services at UNLV. "Career Day gives job-seekers a chance to practice the skill most sought by hiring employers - a strong ability to communicate."
Employers from a variety of fields, including business, hospitality, health care, engineering, and law enforcement, will have booths at Career Day. Employers will be interested in hiring for full-time and part-time positions as well as for internships and summer jobs.
Exhibitors include Bank of America, Nevada Power, Southwest Airlines, local and federal government agencies, and national hotel and casino chains. A full list of employers planning to participate is available by clicking the Career Day link on the Career Services page.
Career Day is sponsored by UNLV's office of career services and by student government.
