The UNLV Arboretum will host its fifth annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 1 at the UNLV soccer practice field, located near the corner of Flamingo Road and Swenson Street.
The focus of this year's sale will be on plants that are considered water efficient and suitable for use in the high desert. Many difficult-to-find species such as Mojave natives, ornamental grasses, and perennials will be available at the sale.
Proceeds from the annual event will benefit the UNLV Arboretum, which conducts educational programs and tours and contributes to the university campus' landscaping.
Horticulture experts will be available to answer questions and to provide information about the plant sale.
The sale's location on the soccer practice field is accessible from Harmon Avenue or Flamingo Road. Signs will be posted directing the public to the location.
The sale is being conducted with the volunteer assistance of the master gardeners of the University Cooperative Extension. For more information, call 895-3392.
