The UNLV Arboretum will host its sixth annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7 in the parking lot of the William S. Boyd School of Law, located on the southeast corner of Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street.
This year's selection has been expanded to meet public interest and demand for plants that are water efficient and suitable for use in the high desert. Many difficult-to-find species such as Mojave natives, ornamental grasses, and perennials will be available at the sale. Horticulture experts will be on hand to answer questions and to provide information about the plant sale.
Proceeds from the annual event will benefit the UNLV Arboretum, which conducts research, educational programs, and contributes to the university campus' landscaping.
The sale is being conducted with the volunteer assistance of the master gardeners of the University Cooperative Extension program and Beta Alpha Psi National Accounting Honor Society.
