UNLV Adopts A School: President, Athletes To Visit Cunningham Elementary This Wednesday

New UNLV Homecoming Tradition Brings Books, Homecoming Football Tickets, and Rebel Spirit to Students From Financially Challenged Families.

WHAT

UNLV President Neal Smatresk, Interim Athletic Director Jerry Koloskie, "Hey Reb" (the UNLV mascot), cheerleaders and members of the 2009 Rebels football team will visit Cunningham Elementary School for a pep rally/assembly to bring Rebel spirit and homecoming football tickets to children from financially disadvantaged families.

Additionally, athletes will deliver books from a related UNLV book drive and teach Cunningham students the UNLV fight song. The effort is part of the new Adopt a School program tied to UNLV homecoming.

Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at 10 a.m.
