Two UNLV students have received $1,500 scholarships from the Associated General Contractors' Education and Research Foundation.
UNLV juniors Ruth Boothe and Lydia Brannin, both construction management majors, were among 72 undergraduates nationally to receive the scholarship awards.
Boothe, originally from Palisade, Colo., is a member of the student chapters of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWC).
Brannin, of Phoenix, Ariz., is also a member of the student chapters of the AGC and the NAWC, as well as the student chapters of the National Association of Home Builders and the American Association of Cost Engineers.
Both students have extensive work experience in the field of construction management.
Since the AGC Foundation started its scholarship programs in 1970, $3.2 million has been awarded to 1,253 students working toward degrees in construction or civil engineering.
