Prize-winning novelist Elizabeth Benedict will give a reading from her upcoming novel, With Regard to Love, during the first University Forum lecture of the spring semester at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History.
Benedict, a visiting English professor at UNLV, is the author of a recent book titled The Joy of Writing Sex, a frank and intelligent guide to writing convincing sex scenes in fiction. Author Scott Turow called it "the most enterprising how-to book of our era."
She has also written three novels, Slow Dancing, The Beginner's Book of Dreams, and Safe Conduct.
University Forum lectures are free and open to the public. They are sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and underwritten by the UNLV Foundation. The foundation also is cosponsoring Benedict's presentation.
