The UNLV English department and the Academic Success Center invite members of the community to re-discover UNLV. Through a series of discussions with representatives from academics, athletics, clubs and research areas, the 4th Friday Brown Bag Luncheon Series aims to uncover the hidden gems of UNLV. The topics will include the university's exciting research projects and top academic programs, campus community service projects and what's happening in student-run organizations.
Distinguished Professor of Engineering Bob Boehm kicks off the series on March 27 with a talk called "The Greening of UNLV and the Mojave." Boehm will discuss the advancements UNLV has made toward sustainability since he arrived at UNLV in 1990. He will outline research projects the university is working on to better harness solar energy usage in Nevada.
