UNLV faculty will present a forum Oct. 9 to discuss the increasingly complex relationship between the United States and Germany. "A Poisoned Relationship? U.S.-German Relations Since the September Elections" will be held 7-9 p.m. in Wright Hall, Room 112. The event is free and open to the public.
UNLV assistant professors Anne Bennett of political science and Daniel Villanueva of foreign languages will discuss the impact of the recent German elections on domestic politics in both Germany and the United States. Other topics to be discussed will include the elections' potential consequences for the war on terrorism - including a possible U.S. attack on Iraq - and future relations between the United States and Europe.
This lecture is being sponsored by the department of political science, the department of foreign languages, UNLV German Club, and the Southern Nevada chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German.
