Liz Waldner, winner of the 2000 James Laughlin Award for poetry, will give a public reading April 17 as part of the University Forum Lecture series at UNLV.
Educated in philosophy and mathematics, Waldner brings a scientist's eye to the practice of poetry. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa's Writer's Workshop and the author of five books of poetry. Her work has appeared in journals such as "Colorado Review," "Denver Quarterly," "New American Writing," "Ploughshares," and "VOLT."
The lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. All University Forum lectures are free and open to the public.
