Award-winning poet Anna Rabinowitz will give a poetry reading at 8 p.m. Nov. 20 in Beam Hall, Room 241. After the reading, she will announce the winner of the Hiram Hunt Poetry Prize. Rabinowitz judged the competition, which was open to UNLV undergraduate students.
The recipient of a 2001 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, Rabinowitz is the author of "Darkling," a book-length poem about the Holocaust, and "At the Site of Inside Out," her first volume of poetry.
Her work has appeared in "Atlantic Monthly," "Boston Review," "The Paris Review," and "Southwest Review." She is vice president of the Poetry Society of America and editor and publisher of the literary journal "American Letters & Commentary."
