The executive certificate in business administration (ECBA) program at UNLV's College of Business gives business owners, managers and professionals a stronger foundation in current business theory and practice. In a fluctuating economy, it is important for the business community to be aware of the new tools and business concepts that emerge everyday. Designed for individuals who may have not any formal education or who want to refresh their business skills, the program can also help individuals establishing new career goals. The program is flexible so students can obtain the certificate in as little as four months or as long as two years.
"The UNLV College of Business is committed to providing quality education and making it accessible for all individuals," said Steve Phelan, director for the UNLV Center for Entrepreneurship. "Advancing business skills in a landscape that is constantly changing is vital to career and salary growth."
Taught in four two-day modules that include 16 sessions, the ECBA is an open-enrollment program that does not require a high school diploma, college degree or prerequisites. Students can begin the program with any module. A new module is offered every month. The next module, "Managing Money," will be held Aug. 19 at 9 a.m. and Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. The registration deadline is Aug. 12.
The classes are taught by leading professors in the UNLV College of Business. Class topics range from leadership and management styles, to business law and corporate finance education. The sessions focus on people, processes, the environment of business and money. Tuition costs $3,995 and covers the cost of instruction, course materials, catering and parking. All classes are usually held at the UNLV Paradise Campus, 851 E. Tropicana Ave.
