UNLV's School of Nursing will host an information session for prospective students about its new Ph.D. program in nursing Dec. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., in Room 131 of the Rod Lee Bigelow Health Sciences Building. The event is free and open to the public.
Faculty from UNLV's School of Nursing will discuss details about the program's admissions options and coursework, and will answer questions from students interested in pursuing careers as nursing educators and researchers. The innovative new doctoral program is designed to meet the schedule of nurses who may not have the opportunity to attend traditional classes because of professional or familial obligations. Students admitted to the program will complete most of their courses online but will be required to fulfill a one-semester residency requirement. Full- and part-time study options, as well as a "fast track" for qualified individuals, are available.
Although the information session is free, prospective students who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to 895-4254. A continental breakfast will be served.
