Internationally known clinician and author Dr. Joel Robertson will present a lecture entitled "Like Mom Always Said, 'It's all in Your Head,'" at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Classroom Building Complex, Room A112, on the UNLV campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
During his presentation, Robertson will discuss how the science of brain chemistry can be used to maximize human potential, to identify performance inhibitors, and to better understand the effect of diet, nutrition, and lifestyle on achieving a healthy balance in life.
Widely recognized as a leader in the area of brain chemistry, Robertson has assessed more than 15,000 individuals seeking to improve their health, well being, and lifestyle. His current research focuses on research models and evaluation systems that maximize health and improve productivity through brain chemistry technology.
Administered through his non-profit organization, the Robertson Research Institute, Robertson's programs help individuals identify and overcome the obstacles that compromise health, wellness, and performance. Those obstacles include the following: disease-based inhibitors, such as obesity, addictions, and compulsions; health based inhibitors, such as poor diet, inactivity, and sleeplessness; and performance-based inhibitors, including fear, anxiety, anger, and stress.
The lecture is being co-sponsored by the Advanced Learning Group, a Nevada non-profit educational organization, and the UNLV Integrative Health Collaborative, which includes Student Wellness, the department of nursing, and the Center for Health Promotion.
