More than 200 UNLV faculty and staff members willing to speak to civic organizations, schools, conventions, and conferences are listed in the new online UNLV Speakers Bureau/Experts Directory.
The listing contains hundreds of topics ranging from the American West to the visual arts.
The document, which is available only online, can be reached by going to UNLV's web site, www.unlv.edu, clicking on the letter "S," and then clicking on "speakers bureau." A vastly improved search engine makes the new online document much easier to use than the previous version.
Those persons willing to serve as speakers are indicated by the words "speaker: yes." Those not so indicated are listed because they are willing to serve as experts on their listed topics for members of the media.
People wishing to book a speaker are asked to contact that speaker directly via either phone or e-mail and make the necessary arrangements with the speaker. UNLV speakers do not solicit a speaker's fee; however, if it is the custom of an organization to offer an honorarium to guest speakers, it is expected that the same courtesy be extended to speakers from UNLV.
People interested in finding a speaker, but who do not have access to the Internet, may call the UNLV News and Public Information Office at 895-3101 for assistance.
