UNLV's newly appointed Interim Director of Admissions Sue Bozarth reminds prospective students that there are two options for enrolling at UNLV - and it's not too late to do either.
"If a student is interested in taking a university class just to see what college is like, then enrolling as a special student is a good option," said Bozarth, who will direct the university's admissions efforts while retaining her position of associate dean of admissions and records. "But students who want to pursue a degree program should apply for formal admission to the university."
Either option is still available to students through Aug. 23, which is the last day to apply for admission or to enroll for classes without paying a late fee. Bozarth notes that instruction begins on Aug. 26, and late registration runs from Aug. 26-30.
During her 15 years at UNLV, Bozarth has served as assistant registrar, associate registrar, and associate dean of admissions and records. She holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in sociology, both from UNLV.
"Promoting UNLV to prospective students and their parents will be a pleasure," Bozarth says. "Both as an employee and as an alumna, I can speak highly of the university, its programs, and the potential students can reach here. It's a wonderful university, and it's both affordable and close to home. We hope to increase awareness of this in the future."
