Christine A. Horak has been hired as director of the Howard W. Cannon Center for Survey Research at UNLV.
Horak, who began her new job earlier this month, has 15 years of experience in research design and project management. For the past two years she has been a lecturer in UNLV's Greenspun School of Communication.
The center is a facility that is prepared to assist university and non-university groups in designing and implementing telephone, mail, and face-to-face surveys of local, state, and regional populations.
Horak specializes in grant and proposal writing, survey research design and management, focus group research, and data reporting and analysis. She has had extensive experience in public, private, and academic research institutions, having coordinated research projects at the U.S. Information Agency in Washington, D.C., and at the Survey Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois.
She also has extensive experience in marketing and advertising research, including work with the Alcantra Machado Group in Brazil.
