Nevada State Bank has donated $30,000 to create the Nevada State Bank MBA Scholarship Fund at UNLV, according to Richard Morgan, dean of the College of Business and the William S. Boyd School of Law.
The new scholarship fund is for students enrolled in master of business administration programs (MBA) and provides initial financial support for the Nevada State Bank Annual MBA Scholarships.
The bank has been a strong community supporter in Southern Nevada since about the time UNLV was established and is an active member of the University's Academic Corporate Council and President's Associates. It is committed to helping potential business leaders fulfill their graduate educational goals.
Southern Nevada's future is largely dependent on the availability of a highly educated work force. We have worked closely with the College of Business at UNLV and are confident that the program they are creating will produce exceptional candidates for future employment and leadership throughout the state," said George B. Hofmann III, president and CEO of Nevada State Bank.

The MBA program at the UNLV College of Business is designed for those who seek global career and leadership opportunities. The innovative MBA program prepares students to succeed in today's business environment by providing them with the needed skills, knowledge, and tools to become visionary and creative leaders. The College of Business at UNLV, including the MBA program, is fully accredited by AACSB - The International Association for Management Education.

Scholarship recipients will be selected from applications submitted through the UNLV Student Financial Services Office. The dean of the College of Business will approve final selection.
