DETAILS: The half-day event will feature panelist presentations and a moderated forum on energy-related issues including the security and supply of energy on a continental scale and the key roles of the three represented countries; the use of renewable energy sources; and infrastructure and policy related to sustainable energy supplies with a goal to address critical environmental concerns by the year 2025.

Participants include U.S. Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada; Michael Yackira, President and CEO, NV Energy; Len Webber, Canada's Parliamentary Assistant for Energy; Mario Lemus, Consul General of Mexico for Las Vegas; Marc LePage, Consul General of Canada for San Francisco/Silicon Valley; Angela Colarusso of the U.S. Department of Energy; and academic and business leaders from the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The North American Energy Roundtable is sponsored by the UNLV Urban Sustainability Initiative in conjunction with the UNLV Department of Political Science and the Canadian Consulate. The event is free and open the public, but pre-registration is required and space is limited to the first 100 participants.
