The presentation by artist, poet, and musician Jose Montoya at UNLV has been postponed until May 5.
Montoya originally was scheduled to appear at the university on April 14. A death in his family made it necessary for him to delay his visit.
The presentation, which now will coincide with Cinco de Mayo, will take place 4-6:30 p.m. in John S. Wright Hall, Room 103. The public is encouraged to join students from English professor Patricia Geuder's Chicano literature course for this free presentation.
Montoya, who has been nominated to be the poet laureate of Sacramento, also paints, writes songs, and performs with his band, Jose Montoya y Casindio. Some of his poetry can be found in the book E1 Sol Y De Abajo. His band released a compact disc, A Pachuco Portfolio, last summer.
