WHAT: UNLV President David B. Ashley and the Invent the Future campaign leadership committee will announce a significant donation from a major Las Vegas corporation with local, national and international outreach.

WHEN: Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: UNLV Foundation Building, Blasco Event Wing
(Corner of Maryland Parkway and Cottage Grove Avenue)

DETAILS: The donation will fund the largest corporate scholarship endowment in UNLV's 49-year history. This program will provide significant awards for National Merit(R) Finalists and National Merit(R) Semifinalists, allowing the university to attract the best and brightest scholars to Southern Nevada.

The gift is counted as part of the university's Invent the Future campaign, which has raised more than $332 million in gifts and gift intentions for UNLV since 2002.

UNLV President David B. Ashley, university representatives and executives from the corporate donor will be available for interviews following the announcement.
