Anthony Ferri, associate professor of communication at UNLV, was recently named the new general manager of the university's radio station, KUNV 91.5 FM.
Ferri has been at UNLV since 1985 and has served as both associate director of UNLV's Hank Greenspun School of Communication and executive assistant to the director of the school. He has taught courses in mass communication, public relations, empirical research methods, and health communication. He received the 1998-99 Board of Regents Outstanding Faculty Award and the 1990 Rita Deanin Abbey Award for Teaching.
Ferri replaces Erika Engstrom, who returned to her regular duties as associate dean of the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs after completing a one-year temporary assignment as the station's acting general manager.
KUNV 91.5 FM is an affiliate station of National Public Radio (NPR) and a public service of UNLV. KUNV operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provides the Las Vegas valley with jazz, blues, folk, and African music, as well as local weather, traffic, and news updates from NPR.
