Kristene Fisher, a 12-year employee of UNLV, recently was named President's Classified Employee of the Year at the university.
Fisher works as executive assistant to the dean of the College of Sciences. She received $1,000, free campus parking for one year, and a plaque as part of the honor.
Sybil Strano-Perry of the department of nursing was the second-place recipient. She received a plaque and $750. Third place went to Katrina Switalski from the College of Education. She received $500 and a plaque.
UNLV President Carol C. Harter presented the awards at a luncheon last month.
A total of 35 employees were nominated.
