Two scholars from the University of Virginia will lead a symposium at UNLV April 21- 22 concerning the future of computing in the humanities field.

"An Interdisciplinary Symposium: Humanities Adventures in Computerland: Field Notes from the University of Virginia" is scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. The symposium, which will explore what role computers and other information technology will play in the humanities disciplines in the years to come, is open to the public free of charge.

Leading the symposium will be John Unsworth, associate professor of English and director of the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities at the University of Virginia, and Jerome McGann, who specializes in the study of British poetry and who is the University of Virginia's John Stewart Bryan Professor.
