High school sophomores from around the state will gather at UNLV June 21-24 for the Nevada Leadership Seminar sponsored by the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation.
Approximately 65 students are expected to attend the conference, which centers around the theme "Motivating Tomorrow's Leaders Today." This marks the 24th year that the foundation has hosted the seminar in Nevada.
Panel sessions, keynote speakers, management simulations, and small-group discussions will challenge the student participants to explore the difficult issues facing today's leaders and to question what the future will hold for them as leaders of tomorrow.
Participants are chosen by their high schools. There is no cost to the students, their families, or their schools.
UNLV provides free housing for the students attending the conference. Additionally, UNLV staff members serve as counselors for the conference.
Two students from the Nevada conference will be selected to represent the state at the World Leadership Congress to be conducted July 13-21 in Washington, D.C.
