LAS VEGAS - July 1, 2009 - Before they enter the workplace, students at the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV will get first-hand knowledge of how casinos and hotel companies maintain revenue management systems. This summer, the hotel college received a computer software system from the Rainmaker Group, a software and consulting services company. Valued at $1.23 million, the computer program is widely used in the hospitality and gaming industries which include MGM Mirage, Wynn Las Vegas and Harrah's Entertainment. Students will start using the software this fall.
The William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration is ranked as one of the top hospitality management colleges in the nation. The college provides students access to one of the largest and most demanding educational laboratories in the field by being located only 1.5 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Many of the 10,500 alumni of the hotel college have gone on to become leaders in the hospitality and tourism industry.
