Harriet Wilson Barlow has been hired to serve as the director of recruitment/theses and dissertations for UNLV's Graduate College.
Barlow, who will begin work at UNLV on April 15, comes to the university from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where she spent eight years as associate director of student development.
She also has worked at Southern Illinois as assistant director of student development, acting director of the Illinois Minority Graduate Incentive Program, adjunct assistant professor of black American studies, and adjunct assistant professor of social work.
Barlow earned a doctoral degree in education with a concentration in academic administration and budgeting from Southern Illinois University. She also earned a master's degree in guidance and educational psychology and a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Southern Illinois.
