The recipients of scholarships totaling $47,000 for the 1996-1997 academic year were recently announced by the UNLV Greenspun School of Communication.
Robert M. MacNamara Scholarships, sponsored by Maureen Barrett of Barrett and Associates, were awarded to Jennifer Evans, Paula Gottula Miles, Farrah Newbold, April Partridge, Melissa Reichley, and Jacqueline Roderick.
Las Vegas Women in Communications Scholarships were awarded to Paula Golata, Kareen Hale, and Amy Jones.
Greenspun Journalism Scholarships, sponsored by Barbara Greenspun of the Las Vegas Sun, were awarded to Stephanie Rushia and Nora Griffith.
Greenspun Communication Scholarships, sponsored by the Milken Family Foundation, were awarded to Jaymes Aimetti, Kristen Basi, Leonil Brandel, Stacey Devald, Sally Gilbertson, E.J. Gladding, Kendra Hodapp, Richard Kimbrough, Joel Lauer, Michelle Low, Monique Madara, Sergio Marquez, Susan McNabb, Terry Morrow, William Muchow, Sarah Norton-Kelly, Kapka Pchelarova, William Price, Stephen Robertson, Michael Saunders, Africa Tellez-Rios, Deborah Tingets, and Pauline Villapando.
Las Vegas Ad Club Scholarships were awarded to Charles Briggs, Cheryl Congdon, Gerri Dereszynski, Jamie Hapip, Cassandra Kegley, Allen Klevens, Sean Ross, Kathryn Mary Schiele, Carrie Schmidt, Shawn Takaguchi, Jennifer Tucker, and Eric Whitaker.
The Maury Stevens Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by Robin Greenspun, was awarded to Joanna Schneider. Scholarships sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America, Desert Sands Chapter, went to Paula Golata and Mark Heftman.
The Allan B. Padderud Media Production Scholarship, sponsored by the Greenspun School of Communication, was awarded to Daniel Dow.
The Tom Keevil Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by Claire Keevil, and the Mary Hausch Scholarship, sponsored by Greenspun School of Communication professor Mary Hausch, were both awarded to Teresa Hinds.
The Ned Day Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Richard Appin, and the V.R. Hicks Outstanding Forensics Award went to Steve Robertson.
