UNLV announced today (Jan. 29) the retirement of radiological safety officer Tom Graham after 14 years of service with the university.
As the radiological safety officer, Graham was responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the campus policy for the use of radioactive materials in teaching and research.
"Tom is going to be missed," said Larry Tirri, director of environmental health and safes "It will be very difficult to find a replacement for him. He is such a valued member of this department. "
Graham arrived at UNLV in 1975 as a member of the faculty for the radiological science department. He left the university in 1981 to pursue a career in private consultation before returning in 1990 when he was named the radiological safety officer.
UNLV has begun the process of finding a replacement for Graham.
