WHAT: Approximately 850 UNLV students will participate in the 2007 African Heritage Achievements Awards and Graduation Celebration, which honors the outstanding academic achievements of UNLV students of African heritage. Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly will deliver the keynote speech.
WHEN: Friday, May 11, 2007, at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: UNLV Cox Pavilion, located next to UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center
DETAILS: The top awards to be presented are the Roosevelt Fitzgerald Outstanding Student Awards, which honor academic performance, campus leadership, and participation in university activities; and the Thomas Wilson Community Service Awards, which will be presented to the top male and female graduate and undergraduate students based on citizenship, involvement in service activities, and academic performance. The event is sponsored by UNLV Alliance of Professionals of African Heritage.
