The UNLV College of Education's School-to-Careers Professional Development Center, which promotes strategies that help university students make the transition from college to work more efficient and productive, is holding a free breakfast seminar on Sept. 24.
Scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. at Community College of Southern Nevada's Nickhorn Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, the seminar will include guest speaker J.D. Hoye, former director of the National School-to-Work Office in Washington D.C.
The nationwide School-to-Careers Program, created through federal legislation in 1994, will be the focus of the seminar. The event is being cosponsored by UNLV's College of Education, the Community College of Southern Nevada, the Clark County School District, and the Southern Nevada Regional School-to-Careers Partnership.
The College of Education's School-to-Careers Professional Development Center will also conduct an in-service presentation for university faculty on Sept. 25.
