A forum on "Expanding Technology for Women and Girls," hosted by the Women's Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN), will be held at UNLV on Aug. 17.
The forum will feature technology specialists and business representatives from the state of Nevada addressing what is being done to ensure that women and girls are prepared to enter the technology workforce of the 21st century. Discussions will focus on the projected technology needs of the industry and the applicable training that is being offered by educational institutions.
The forum will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Richard Tam Alumni Center.
A summary of the forum's proceedings will be compiled into a report and included in the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau's national symposium on Women in Technology, which will be held Nov. 30 in Washington, D.C.
The forum is being funded by the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau.
