"Considering Abraham: The Role of Abraham in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam" is the topic of a March 4 University Forum Lecture.
During the lecture, three religion scholars will discuss the role of Abraham in each of these faiths and examine the reasons behind the growing interest in this ancient patriarch. The presenters are Marvin Sweeney, professor of Hebrew bible at Claremont School of Theology, Frances Campbell, chair of the department of philosophical and regional studies at the Community College of Southern Nevada, and Farooq Hamid, adjunct professor of religion at both Claremont Graduate University and Whittier College.
The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. All University Forum lectures are free and open to the public.
