Paul Loveday, a professor emeritus in the department of management, died Jan. 2. He was 77.
Graveside services for family and close friends only will be held Jan. 11 at the Veterans' Cemetery in Boulder City. An on-campus memorial service will be held Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History.
Loveday received his bachelor's degree from the University of Omaha, his master's degree from the University of Arizona, and his doctorate from the University of Arkansas.
He first came to UNLV in 1969 after 11 years at the University of Arizona.
In 1972, Loveday was named chair of the department of management and held that post until 1988. During that time, he also served as director of the UNLV's Small Business Administration program. Loveday retired in June 1990.
A veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, he served in the Army, rising to the rank of captain. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, as well as the United Nations Service Medal.
