All events are free and open to the public. UNLV's Sierra Student Coalition is rallying campus and community awareness of clean energy and its impact through Focus the Nation - a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting clean energy solutions through youth leadership development on college campuses. UNLV events focused on energy literacy include:
Clean Energy 101
Interactive campus display/maze will feature information stations on where energy comes from, how it's produced and how much goes into powering homes, transportation, food production and water transport.
Clean Energy Forum
Representatives from the energy industry and local educators will discuss current issues and trends in renewable and alternative energy (solar, nuclear and geothermal) and their potential for growth in Nevada.
