Former Neo-Nazi skinhead Frank Meeink, now a member of the Anti-Defamation League, will speak May 4 at UNLV about his previous experiences in the Neo-Nazi movement.
Co-sponsored by UNLV's Office of Diversity Initiatives and the Student Organization of Latinos, Meeink's talk will take place at 10 a.m. in the Moyer Student Union, Room 201. His presentation will last about an hour and will include a question-and-answer period after his talk.
As part of his experience with the Neo-Nazi group, Meeink traveled the country as a skinhead leader and recruiter. In Illinois, he hosted a cable TV show featuring a set filled with Confederate and Nazi flags.
Meeink's perspective on racial matters changed drastically after he served a stint in prison. He now works with the Anti-Defamation League, giving lectures throughout the country.
