DeLyle Eastwood, an adjunct professor of physics at UNLV, recently received a 1996 award of merit from the American Society for Testing and Materials.
Eastwood was nominated for the award by the society's committee on molecular spectroscopy, which cited her diligent leadership as chairperson of the subcommittee on molecular luminescence.
She earned both a Ph.D. and a master of science degree in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago and did postdoctoral work in spectroscopy at Harvard University.
The society established the award of merit, and the accompanying honorary title of fellow, in 1949 to recognize distinguished service by individual members. The society is based in West Conshohocken, Penn.
