WHAT: UNLV's department of environmental studies will host more than 700 elementary students from the Clark County School District during the university's annual Earth Day celebration
WHEN: Wednesday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to noon
WHERE: The academic mall at UNLV
DETAILS: The Earth Day event is free and open to the public. This year's event, themed "Reduce, Renew, Recycle" will include more than 30 environmental education exhibits with local organizations including the Environmental Protection Agency, Southern Nevada Water Authority, Nevada Power, Electric Car Association, UNLV's Sierra Student Coalition and Clark County. The U.S. Forest Service's Smokey Bear will also be on hand to celebrate the occasion.
