The Southern Nevada community is invited to attend the fourth annual Community Job Fair at UNLV on Sept. 27.
Sponsored by UNLV's Jean Nidetch Women's Center, Community Job Fair '97 already has nearly 100 recruiters from both the public and private sectors registered to attend. Last year's job fair attracted more than 100 recruiters and approximately 1,500 job seekers. More than 500 hirings resulted from event, according to Conee Spano, director of the women's center.
This year's job fair will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Moyer Student Union, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. The event is free.
Free parking, free babysitting, and free seminars will be offered. Spanish-speaking interpreters will be available at the event. Among the seminar topics will be career choices, open doors for women in public safety, how to handle conflict in the workplace, dressing for success on a budget, and resume writing and interviewing skills. A seminar on interviewing techniques will be offered in Spanish.
The job fair is accessible to disabled persons. Signing will be available for the hearing impaired.
