The Southern Nevada community is invited to attend the fifth annual Community Job Fair at UNLV on Sept. 26.
Sponsored by UNLV's Jean Nidetch Women's Center, Community Job Fair '98 has 125 recruiters from both the public and private sectors registered to attend.
Last year's job fair attracted more than 1,500 job seekers, and 500 people were hired that day, according to Conee Spano, director of the women's center.
This year's job fair will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at UNLV's Moyer Student Union. The event is free and open to the public.
Free parking, free babysitting, and free seminars will be offered. Spanish-speaking and American Sign Language interpreters will be available at the event. Among the seminar topics will be resume writing and interview skills (presented in both Spanish and English), dressing for success on a budget, and communication skills.
Job seekers should bring their resumes and come dressed for interviews.
