A clinic designed to assist children and adolescents who suffer from anxiety disorders is available at UNLV through May.
The UNLV Child Anxiety Disorders Clinic provides assessment and treatment for children and youths ages 5 through 17. Fees are based on each family's ability to pay.
Examples of common anxiety disorders among children and teens include separation anxiety disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (excessive worry), social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and selective mutism, said Christopher Kearney, the associate professor of psychology who serves as clinic director.
Parents interested in learning more about the clinic or scheduling an appointment should contact Kearney at 895-0183.
