Two ceramics exhibits will be on display at UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History through May 3.
The first exhibit, the 1997 National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts Clay National, already is underway and will continue through May 3. This exhibition is the fourth biennial international juried competition in ceramic art and contains a selection of 53 pieces by 45 artists. The jurors chose the 53 pieces from more than 900 entries.
The second exhibit, Table Top Icons: The Michael Hall and Patricia Glascock Collection of salt and pepper shakers, will open March 14 and will continue through May 3.
Both exhibits are open to the public free of charge and may be viewed 8 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
Additionally, the public is invited to a free reception associated with the exhibits. The reception is scheduled for 4-6:30 p.m. April 2 in the museum lobby.
