UNLV's director of public safety, David Hollenbeck, was placed on administrative leave on Monday (Nov. 5) pending reassignment, according to Dr. Robert Ackerman, vice president for student services. The public safety director reports to Ackerman.

Sgt. Don Drake, a long-time member of the UNLV Public Safety Department, was named interim director.

Hollenbeck will be reassigned to an as-yet-undetermined position at the university, Ackerman said.

"I have every confidence that UNLV's police officers will continue to perform their duties in a professional manner while we search for new leadership for the department," Ackerman said.
