Recent years have seen a shift in the settlement patterns of U.S. immigrants, away from well-established metro areas and into new destinations, including suburban areas. Audrey Singer, a senior fellow in Brookings' Metropolitan Policy Program, discusses major trends in immigration, variation in local policy responses, and the prospects for federal immigration reform.
The Brookings Scholars program - a product of Brookings Mountain West - welcomes leading experts from the Brookings Institution to UNLV each month to lend insight on key regional issues through interaction with campus and community leaders, collaborative research and a free public lecture held in conjunction with each scholar's visit to campus.
