The Big Beer Bash, a beer-tasting and music event that will raise funds to support BRUNLV, will take place noon-6 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 20) at Cashman Field.
More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will feature more than 100 draft beers produced by 35 micro or regional breweries. An additional draw will be the music of bands Ray Gun Riot, Bent Valve, The Ill Figures, and Thought Pollution.
"A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to BRUNLV, a nonprofit organization that supports the advancement of craft brewing in Southern Nevada," said Andy Feinstein, UNLV assistant professor of food and beverage management. "Money raised will be used to help build a pilot brewery at UNLV where UNLV students and local professional brewers will be able to learn more about the craft of brewing."
Many students enrolled in programs in UNLV's William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration are involved in the planning and execution of the event. The fund-raiser is being presented by the college's food and beverage management department in conjunction with Fun Festivals, LLC.
Discounted tickets are available for advance purchase. For more information, call the event hotline at 596-0995 or send an email to Info@BigBeerBash.com.
