Glamour photographs of Las Vegas women will be on display at UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History from May 5 through June 17 when the museum hosts "The Fabulous Girls of Las Vegas: A Robert Scott Hooper Retrospective."
The exhibition will include photographs taken throughout Hooper's 35-year career, many of which have not been seen since their original publication.
An opening reception, which the public is invited to attend free of charge, is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. May 5.
Hooper, whose photos of women have graced the pages of magazines around the world, began his career with the Las Vegas News Bureau in 1966; there, he honed his photographic skills by shooting hotels, events, shows, stars, and glamour for five years. He went on to work with a local entertainment weekly called the "Vegas Visitor," for which he photographed the publication's "cover girls" for more than 16 years.
He began shooting for Playboy in 1973 and has produced numerous pictorials for that publication. He has also begun producing local and national television commercials, music videos, and sales films.
