Poet Donald Revell will read from his works April 12 at the Jewel Box Theatre in the Clark County Public Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The reading, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., is cosponsored by the International Institute of Modern Letters, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, and UNLV's International Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program.
Revell is the author of seven poetry books, including Gaza of Winter, Arcady and From the Abandoned Cities, which won the National Poetry Series award. He is also the translator of Guilliame Apollinaire's Acools.
Twice the recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Award, Revell has received a Guggenheim fellowship and a grant from the Ingram Merrill Foundation. His honors also include the Gertrude Stein Award for innovative poetry and the Jerome Shestack Prize from The American Poetry Review.
He is an English professor at the University of Utah and lives in Las Vegas with his wife, poet Claudia Keelan, and their son.
