Acclaimed author and UNLV English Professor Douglas UNger will read from his new book of short stories on April 27 as part of the University Forum Lecture Series.
Unger will read selections from "Looking for War and Other Stories," which was published recently by Ontario Review Press. Some of the stories contain explicit language and are intended for a mature audience.
Unger is the author of four novels, including "Leaving the Land," a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and most recently "Voices from Silence," about repression and terror in Argentina. He is currently the director of the MFA International Program in Creative Writing at UNLV.
The reading will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. All University Forum Lectures are free and open to the public. No reservations are required. The University Forum Lecture Series is sponsored by UNLV's College of Liberal Arts and is underwritten by the Jerry Kalafatis Lodge Charitable Foundation and the UNLV Foundation.
